About ADF

Michael Evers, Executive Director of The Alzheimer's Disease Fund of America (ADF) and an attorney, is a man with a mission: For more than 30 years he has been actively involved in representing the interests of those who have a stake in challenging the prevailing health care system in America. He is recognized as an authority on alternative health law and is frequently called upon for consultation and advice by health and legal professionals.

Mike was one of the primary forces behind the lobbying effort that got Congress to investigate charges that unconventional medical treatments were being ignored by the U.S. medical establishment. The Congressional Office of Technology Assessment asked him to prepare a report on the legal constraints facing consumers and health care professionals who utilize such treatments. The outcome of these efforts was establishment and funding of the Office of Alternative Medicine with the National Institutes of Health. Mike was the legislative coordinator of the Nutritional Health Alliance, organized to fight efforts by the Food and Drug Administration to regulate many dietary supplements out of existence. He was one of the key players to work on development of the legislation which Congress passed as the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act.

He has appeared on numerous television programs, including ABC's Good Morning America and NBC's Today Show, as well as dozens of radio programs nationwide. Mike has also been featured in several national publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Times, USA Today, American Medical News, L.A. Weekly, Health, New Age, and Vegetarian Times. He serves as a director of the Alternative Medicine Media Professionals.

Mike is also editor of Natural HealthLine®, a bimonthly e-mail newsletter devoted to complementary and alternative health care issues.
